Privacy policy
Orbin helps you focus by blocking the apps you choose. This policy explains what stays on your device, what we collect, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read.
The short version
- Orbin has no account. We don’t ask for your name, email or phone number.
- The apps and websites you block stay on your device. Apple hides them from us.
- We don’t show ads, we don’t track you across other apps, and we don’t sell data.
- We collect only what’s needed to process purchases and to start scheduled Live Activities on time.
What stays on your device
Your blocklists, focus history, streaks, goals, settings and the sessions you run are stored on your iPhone in storage shared between the Orbin app and its extensions.
When you choose apps or websites, Apple’s Screen Time picker gives Orbin opaque tokens. Orbin can apply and remove a shield using those tokens, but it cannot read the names of the apps or websites behind them, and they never leave your device.
Screen Time usage reports shown in Orbin are rendered by Apple’s system and are not accessible to Orbin.
What we collect
Two services receive limited data. Neither involves your name or email.
- Purchases and subscription status. Purchases are handled by Apple. We use Superwall to manage Orbin Plus status. Superwall receives an anonymous identifier, your purchase and subscription status, and basic device and app information (such as device model, OS and app version, and locale).
- Scheduled sessions. If you schedule a focus session with a Live Activity, our server receives a random installation identifier, the Live Activity push-to-start token Apple issues for your device, the session start and end times, the name you gave the blocklist, the strict level, and a session identifier. We use this only to start your Live Activity at the right time.
What we don’t do
- We don’t run ads or ad networks.
- We don’t track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
- We don’t collect your location, contacts, photos or messages.
- We don’t sell or rent personal data.
Screen Time access
Orbin asks for Screen Time access using Apple’s individual authorization. It lets Orbin restrict apps on your own device. You can switch it off at any time in Settings › Screen Time. Doing so ends every block Orbin applied.
Who else is involved
- Apple processes payments and provides the Screen Time, notification and Live Activity services. Apple’s privacy policy applies to those services.
- Superwall provides subscription management. See superwall.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare hosts the service that starts scheduled Live Activities.
Children
Orbin is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can delete Orbin at any time, which removes the data stored on your device. To ask us to delete the scheduled-session data tied to your device, access it, or correct it, email us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and we will honor them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
